Russia Launches Missile and Drone Attack on Ukraine's Sumy Region, Air Defense Downs 17 Shahed Drones

On the nights of July 23 and 24, Russia launched a combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine, targeting the Sumy region and other areas. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that eight UAVs and one Kh-69 air missile were involved in the attack on Sumy. Seven of the drones were shot down, and the missile did not hit its target. In total, Ukrainian air defense managed to down 17 out of 23 Shahed drones launched by Russia, as well as eight reconnaissance UAVs, which included ZALA, Orlan-10, and SuperCam drones. The Sumy regional administration confirmed the air strike was carried out on critical objects.
