Terror Attacks in J&K's Rajouri Injure Soldier, Prompt Large-Scale Search Operation
Jul 22, 2024, 03:08 AM
A series of terror attacks have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir, with a significant incident occurring in Rajouri district. On July 22, terrorists attacked a security post and the house of a Village Defense Committee (VDC) member in Gunda village at approximately 3 am, injuring a soldier. The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a large-scale search operation in response. Omar Abdullah, a leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, stated that the spike in terror attacks should not be used as a justification to delay assembly polls in the region. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh mentioned that the government is working on strategies to address the issue, including the revival of Village Defence Groups (VDGs).
