Mexican President Announces Pemex to Pay $20.5 Billion to Suppliers in Installments Over Next Three Months
Dec 23, 2024, 04:30 PM
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that state-owned oil company Pemex will begin paying its suppliers in installments over the next three months, starting in December and continuing through January and February 2025. This decision comes after a comprehensive review of Pemex's debts, which were identified during the transition to the new administration. Sheinbaum emphasized that all suppliers will receive their payments, and the Finance Ministry is working on a financial scheme to facilitate these payments. The total debt owed to suppliers by Pemex amounts to approximately 20,500 million dollars.
