The crypto exchange M2 was hacked for $13.7 million on October 31, 2024. The breach, which occurred at 3:16 AM UAE time, was a result of an access control exploit affecting hot wallets across multiple chains including ETH, SOL, and BTC. M2 addressed the issue within 16 minutes, restoring all services and taking full responsibility for potential losses. The exchange, founded in 2022 and headquartered in the UAE, has assured full fund recovery for the affected users. M2 has reimbursed victims after the $14M Halloween hack.
