Jul 13, 2024, 02:52 PM
Germany has developed a comprehensive contingency plan, dubbed Operationsplan Deutschland (OPLAN DEU), to transfer NATO forces to Eastern Europe in the event of a military conflict with Russia. The plan, reported by Der Spiegel and Bild, outlines the course of action for both military and civilian authorities and includes the transfer of 800,000 soldiers and over 200,000 pieces of equipment within three to six months. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius emphasized the need for the country to be fully prepared for defense by 2029, noting that Russia's military economy is already gearing up for a potential conflict. The plan was detailed on July 12.
