Despite Trump’s public disavowal on Truth Social, his SuperPAC has promoted the project, and several of his former aides, including John McEntee, were involved in its creation. Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts described the initiative as a 'second American Revolution' that would remain bloodless 'if the left allows it to be.' Trump has labeled the project 'ridiculous and abysmal,' although he has previously praised Roberts. Critics argue that Trump’s disavowal is a strategic move to mitigate political backlash, as Project 2025 has been heavily criticized for its extreme positions.
