Chris Wallace Quits CNN After Three Years to Focus on Streaming and Podcasting
Nov 12, 2024, 12:25 AM
Veteran news anchor Chris Wallace is quitting CNN after nearly three years at the network. Wallace, 77, who joined CNN in 2021 after a long tenure at Fox News, announced that he will not renegotiate his contract and is departing to build his own media empire focused on streaming and podcasting. He told The Daily Beast about his departure, signaling a shift towards independent ventures. CNN CEO Mark Thompson praised Wallace as "one of the most respected political journalists in the news business" and thanked him for his dedication and wisdom. Wallace initially joined CNN to be part of its streaming revolution with CNN+, which was short-lived. His shows will conclude at the end of their scheduled run later this year.
