Iran Plans to Deport Two Million Undocumented Immigrants by March 2025, 850,000 Already Deported
Oct 28, 2024, 06:11 AM
Iranian Chief of Police Ahmad-Reza Radan announced a plan to deport two million undocumented immigrants by the end of the year. Radan stated that Iran has already deported 850,000 illegal foreign nationals as part of a plan to expel at least two million of them by March 2025. Additionally, around 38,000 Afghan migrants have been deported from the southeastern province of Kerman. This announcement comes amid heightened tensions, with Iranian border troops reportedly ambushing a group of Afghan migrants attempting to cross from Afghanistan into Iran at the Kalgan border, resulting in 16 injuries and several fatalities.
