Trump Appoints Musk and Ramaswamy to Lead DOGE, Plan $2 Trillion Cuts and Agency Deletions
Nov 20, 2024, 09:30 PM
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have been appointed by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, they detailed plans to reduce federal spending by up to $2 trillion, eliminate wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies, including potential deletions of the FBI, IRS, and Department of Education. The plan includes enforcing in-person attendance for federal employees to encourage resignations and reduce the workforce. They intend to identify thousands of regulations for elimination and enforce existing laws more strictly. They also plan to develop a free mobile app for Americans to file their taxes. To promote transparency, Musk and Ramaswamy will launch a podcast called "DOGEcast" to provide regular updates on their cost-cutting initiatives.
