Federal Authorities Raid Home of Interim NYPD Commissioner Thomas Donlon on September 20
Sep 22, 2024, 04:20 AM
Federal authorities executed a search warrant at the residence of interim NYPD Police Commissioner Thomas Donlon on Friday, September 20. The search comes just over a week after his predecessor, Edward Caban, resigned following a similar FBI raid at his home. Donlon confirmed that the search was unrelated to recent investigations involving NYC City Hall and the NYPD. Law enforcement officials indicated that the search warrant was related to documents Donlon may have retained from previous positions in law enforcement. Materials seized during the raid reportedly came into Donlon's possession approximately 20 years ago. City Hall expects compliance with the ongoing investigation, according to three people familiar with the matter.
