UK's Youngest Knife Murderers, 13, Get Life Sentences for Killing 19-Year-Old Shawn in Wolverhampton
Sep 27, 2024, 11:04 AM
Two 13-year-old boys have been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of eight years and six months for the murder of 19-year-old stranger, Shawn Seesahai, in a Wolverhampton park. The pair, who were 12 at the time of the attack on November 13th, 2023, are the UK's youngest knife murderers and the youngest convicted murderers since the killers of James Bulger. Seesahai was fatally attacked with a machete in a random and unprovoked assault, during which the boys punched, kicked, stamped on, and hacked him to death. The court heard that the boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, carried out the brutal killing in a park. The sentencing took place at Nottingham Crown Court, where Mrs Justice Tipples described the facts of the case as horrific and shocking. Seesahai was due to start an engineering course the day after he was attacked. His family, from Anguilla, have been left heartbroken by the loss.
