US Solar Installations Up 400%, Expected to Reach 15 Million by 2034
May 16, 2024, 04:23 PM
The United States has surpassed 5 million solar installations, marking a significant milestone in the country's clean energy efforts. This rapid growth in solar installations, which has increased by 400% over the past eight years, is expected to continue, with projections indicating the number will double to 10 million by 2030 and reach 15 million by 2034. Solar energy now accounts for more than 263,000 jobs in the US. Additionally, the US is expected to boost its total generating capacity by 80% through 2035, driven largely by almost 1 terawatt of new solar and wind energy. This expansion is part of a broader trend in increasing energy demands, including a projected tripling of data center power demand from 15GW to 45GW by 2030.
