58-Year-Old Ryan Routh Charged with Attempted Assassination of Trump on September 15

Ryan Wesley Routh has been formally charged with the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Routh, 58, was arrested near Trump's Florida golf course in West Palm Beach on September 15, 2024, after allegedly staking out the location for 12 hours and being found with a high-powered rifle. Prosecutors revealed that Routh left a note indicating his intention to kill Trump. The charges include two federal firearms offenses and the attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate. If convicted, Routh could face life in prison. Judge Aileen Cannon will oversee the case.
