The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR at the request of the Chhattisgarh Government to investigate allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process of the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC). The case involves former CGPSC Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani, the then Secretary, and the Controller of Examinations. The CBI has conducted searches at their residential and official premises in Raipur and Bhilai. The investigation pertains to accusations of nepotism and favoritism in the recruitment of relatives of officials and politicians between 2020 and 2022. Officials have referred to the case as a 'scam'.
