Pro-Palestinian Protesters Scale Australian Parliament House Roof in Major Security Breach; Four Arrested
Jul 4, 2024, 01:20 AM
In a significant security breach, pro-Palestinian protesters climbed onto the roof of Australia's Parliament House in Canberra on Thursday morning. The demonstrators unfurled banners with slogans such as 'from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free' and accused Israel of war crimes and genocide, calling government MPs 'genocide enablers'. The protestors managed to jump a 2.5-meter fence, part of a $126.7 million security upgrade in 2017, to access the roof. Four protesters were arrested following the incident, and they have been banned from the Parliament building. Despite initial reports, no arrests were made at the scene.
