Jul 29, 2024, 07:04 PM
The South Pasadena Police Department (SPPD) has unveiled the nation's first all-electric police fleet, consisting entirely of Tesla vehicles and supported by a dedicated charging infrastructure. Officials highlighted the cost-effectiveness and superior performance of the Tesla cars, noting that the administrative fleet experienced no maintenance issues in its first year. The transition to an all-electric fleet was facilitated by UpfitTesla, and the initiative is expected to save taxpayer money while providing highly capable vehicles for police use. Tony Abdalla of SPPD emphasized that these vehicles are the most capable available at any price.
