Finland Charges Rusich Group Leader Yan Petrovsky with Killing 22 Ukrainians
Oct 31, 2024, 01:48 PM
Finland has charged Russian neo-Nazi leader Yan Petrovsky, also known as Voislav Torden, with serious war crimes committed in Ukraine in 2014-2015. Petrovsky, the ex-commander of the neo-Nazi Rusich Group, is accused of killing at least 22 Ukrainian servicemen and wounding four others. He was detained in July 2023, and Ukraine had demanded his extradition. However, the Finnish Supreme Court ruled that he cannot be extradited to Ukraine. Finnish police have also begun a preliminary investigation into suspected terrorist crimes committed by Petrovsky in Ukraine.
