Tommy Robinson Charged Under Terrorism Act for Withholding Phone PIN, Remanded Ahead of London Protest
Oct 25, 2024, 03:28 PM
British far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been charged under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act for failing to provide the PIN code to his mobile phone. He handed himself in at a police station in Folkestone, Kent, on Friday afternoon. While he was granted bail on this charge to appear in court next month, he was remanded in custody due to an outstanding contempt of court matter and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. The charge under the Terrorism Act relates to an incident on July 28 when he was stopped by police in Folkestone. Robinson was expected to lead a demonstration in London on Saturday, but will now miss the protest due to his detention. Supporters of Robinson are still planning to hold the demonstration in his absence.
