Delhi Court Grants Bail to SUV Driver in Coaching Centre Deaths of Three UPSC Aspirants
Aug 1, 2024, 09:41 AM
The Tis Hazari Court has granted bail to Manuj Kathuria, the SUV driver arrested in connection with the deaths of three UPSC aspirants at a coaching center in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar. Initially charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, Kathuria's charges were dropped, leading to his bail. The court had previously denied bail to Kathuria and four co-owners of the building. The decision to grant bail came after the Delhi High Court highlighted issues with the charges and questioned the justification of Kathuria's arrest. Shima Kathuria, Manuj's wife, expressed relief at the decision, while Rakesh Malhotra, Kathuria's lawyer, stated that the arrest was not justifiable.
