Syrian Asylum Seeker Arrested for Solingen Stabbing: Three Dead, Eight Injured
Aug 24, 2024, 11:49 PM
German police have arrested a 26-year-old Syrian asylum seeker, Issa al H., in connection with a deadly stabbing attack at a diversity festival in Solingen. The attack, which occurred last night, resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to eight others. The suspect, who admitted to the crime, turned himself in approximately 26 hours after the incident. Authorities have linked the attack to the Islamic State, which has claimed responsibility, citing it as revenge against Christians for the war in Gaza. The suspect was reportedly still wearing blood-stained clothes at the time of his arrest. Additionally, German police have detained a second individual related to the attack.
