The Texas Longhorns secured a thrilling 39-31 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in double overtime during the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, advancing to the College Football Playoff semifinals. The game, held on New Year's Day in Atlanta, saw Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers throw for 322 yards and three touchdowns, including a crucial 28-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Golden on fourth-and-13 in the first overtime to tie the game at 31-31. In the second overtime, Ewers connected with Gunnar Helm for a 25-yard touchdown and followed with a successful two-point conversion to Golden, putting Texas ahead 39-31. The Longhorns' defense sealed the win when Andrew Mukuba intercepted a pass from Arizona State's Sam Leavitt. Despite a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Arizona State mounted a comeback led by Cam Skattebo, but Texas held on for the win. Texas will now face the winner of the Oregon-Ohio State game in the Cotton Bowl semifinal on January 10.
