Thailand Reports Suspected Mpox Clade 1 Case in European Man

Thailand has reported its first suspected case of the new mpox Clade 1 strain. The patient is a foreign national who traveled from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The individual, identified as a European man, arrived from Africa last week. Health officials are currently awaiting test results to confirm the strain of the virus. Dr. Thongchai Keeratihattayakorn, Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, stated that it has not yet been definitively determined whether the patient is infected with the Clade 1b strain.
