Over 100,000 Israelis Protest Against Netanyahu, Demand Hostage Deal and Resignation
Sep 1, 2024, 04:36 PM
Over 100,000 Israelis have taken to the streets in Tel Aviv and other cities to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The demonstrators are demanding a ceasefire deal with Hamas to secure the release of hostages held in Gaza. The protests intensified following the announcement by Israel's military of the discovery of six dead hostages in a Gaza tunnel. Protesters are also calling for Netanyahu's resignation, accusing him of delaying the ceasefire agreement and prioritizing his political survival over the lives of the hostages. In addition to Tel Aviv, protesters blocked the main entrance to Jerusalem for over two hours, marking the largest demonstration against Netanyahu in months. Demonstrations also took place near Netanyahu's residence in Caesarea, demanding a hostage exchange deal.
