Delhi Court Takes Cognizance of ED's 8th Chargesheet Against CM Kejriwal in Liquor Policy Case
Jul 9, 2024, 08:48 AM
The Rouse Avenue Court has taken cognizance of the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) supplementary prosecution complaint (8th chargesheet) filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi excise policy case. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja issued a production warrant for Kejriwal, with the next hearing scheduled for July 12. The case, which has been under investigation by the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the past two years, involves allegations of money laundering related to the Delhi liquor policy. Despite 564 pieces of evidence being produced, no monetary recovery has been made. Additionally, K Kavitha has moved to a Delhi court seeking default bail, claiming the chargesheet is incomplete. The AAP has alleged that witnesses were pressured and blackmailed in the case.
