Ukraine's 158-Drone Attack Hits Russian Energy Sites, Including Moscow Oil Refinery
Sep 1, 2024, 07:54 AM
Ukraine launched a significant drone attack on Russia, targeting key energy infrastructure, including the Konakovskaya Thermal Power Plant in Tver region, the Kashira Power Station, and the Moscow Oil Refinery. The attack, one of the largest since the conflict began, involved 158 drones, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Fires broke out at the Konakovskaya plant, Russia's 8th largest thermal power station, and the Moscow Oil Refinery, one of the largest and most heavily guarded facilities in Russia. Russia reported intercepting and destroying the drones across 15 regions, including Moscow, where two drones were downed. The strikes highlight the ongoing tensions and capabilities of Ukrainian forces to target critical infrastructure deep within Russian territory.
