A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Dhing area of Nagaon district, Assam, on August 22. The incident occurred while the victim was returning home from her coaching classes. She was later found in a semi-conscious state on a roadside and rescued by the police. The alleged crime has sparked widespread protests across Assam, with locals expressing anger and demanding justice. The Assam Police were informed promptly, and the Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has been made aware of the situation. Assam DGP GP Singh confirmed the incident, which has also led to a shutdown in the region as protests continue to grow.
