House Oversight Subpoenas DHS Over Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz's Alleged China Ties
Sep 30, 2024, 07:47 PM
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has issued a subpoena to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas following whistleblower disclosures alleging that Minnesota Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz has ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The whistleblower revealed the existence of a non-classified Microsoft Teams group chat among DHS employees discussing serious concerns about Walz's connections to China. Additionally, Comer is seeking intelligence reports, documents, and communications related to these allegations. Walz has reportedly visited China more than 30 times. The timing of the subpoena comes just before the Vice Presidential debate between J.D. Vance and Walz.
