Kellye SoRelle, Oath Keepers Lawyer, Pleads Guilty to Jan. 6 Charges
Aug 21, 2024, 08:28 PM
Kellye SoRelle, the attorney for the far-right extremist group Oath Keepers and former girlfriend of its founder Stewart Rhodes, has pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges related to the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. SoRelle admitted to breaching Capitol grounds and urging members of the group to delete evidence from their phones. She pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstruction of justice, involving tampering with documents, and a misdemeanor charge of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds. Her sentencing is scheduled for January, and she faces guidelines of 10-16 months in prison, or 6-12 months if considered a first offender. The government has reserved the right to request a terrorism enhancement.
