Federal Agencies Launch Operation at Brooklyn Jail Holding Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Sam Bankman-Fried
Oct 28, 2024, 04:00 PM
Federal authorities have launched an 'interagency operation' at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, where Sean 'Diddy' Combs is being held on sex trafficking charges. The operation, involving multiple federal agencies including the FBI and DEA, aims to address safety concerns and improve conditions at the facility, which has been plagued by violence, poor conditions, and multiple deaths. The Bureau of Prisons stated that the operation was pre-planned and there is no active threat. The facility, which houses about 1,200 detainees, also holds former FTX head Sam Bankman-Fried. This comes amid increased scrutiny of the jail's conditions and follows a judge's rejection of Combs' request for a gag order to prevent government leaks about his case. Last month, federal prosecutors charged nine inmates in connection with a spate of attacks from April to August at MDC Brooklyn.
