Milei Thanks Brazil for Taking Custody of Argentine Embassy Sheltering Opposition Aides
Aug 1, 2024, 02:03 PM
Brazil has taken custody of the Argentine embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, following the departure of Argentina’s diplomatic staff. This move comes after Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro ended diplomatic relations with Argentina. The embassy is currently sheltering aides to Venezuela’s opposition leader, Maria Corina Machado, who have been there since March. Argentine presidential candidate Javier Milei says he is grateful to Brazil for stepping in to protect the embassy and those seeking refuge there.
