Biden Administration Notifies Congress of $8 Billion Arms Deal with Israel
Jan 4, 2025, 01:26 AM
President Joe Biden's administration has informally notified Congress of an $8 billion proposed arms deal with Israel, according to sources cited by Axios. The State Department's notification includes munitions for fighter jets and attack helicopters, such as AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, as well as 155mm artillery shells. The deal, expected to be one of Biden's final major actions before leaving office, would provide Israel with additional military capabilities. Some of the munitions could be delivered from existing U.S. stockpiles, while the majority would take one or more years to produce and deliver.
