CBI Takes Over RG Kar Medical College Doctor's Rape-Murder Case Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation into the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Following an order from the Calcutta High Court, a team of CBI officers from Delhi, including medical and forensic experts, has arrived in Kolkata to examine the crime scene. The incident has sparked protests among doctors, with demonstrations occurring at KEM Hospital demanding justice for the victim. Renovation work is also reportedly underway near the crime scene at the government hospital. The Indian Medical Association's RG Kar College is also involved in the investigation.
