BBC Apologizes to Amanda Abbington; Giovanni Pernice Cleared of Physical Aggression, Verbal Bullying Upheld
Sep 30, 2024, 12:11 PM
The BBC has issued a formal apology to former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant Amanda Abbington after concluding its investigation into her complaints against her dance partner Giovanni Pernice during the 2023 season. The broadcaster stated that it had upheld some, but not all, of her complaints regarding Pernice's behavior. Giovanni Pernice was cleared of the most serious allegations, including physical aggression, but some complaints about verbal bullying were upheld. The BBC said, 'We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made.' In response to the findings, Amanda Abbington described the outcome as a 'vindication'.
