Ocasio-Cortez Files 3 Articles of Impeachment Against Thomas, 2 Against Alito
Jul 10, 2024, 08:02 PM
Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. The charges focus on their alleged failure to disclose financial gifts and transactions, as well as their refusal to recuse themselves from cases with potential conflicts of interest. Ocasio-Cortez filed three articles against Thomas and two against Alito. Co-sponsors of the impeachment articles include Representatives Lee (Calif.), Tlaib, Watson Coleman, Ramirez (Ill.), Frost, Omar, and Bowman. The impeachment effort is seen as unlikely to pass in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.
