SpaceX Prepares for Fifth Starship Flight Test from Boca Chica, Showcases 1 Million Square Foot Starfactory Aiming for 1,000 Starships per Year
Oct 13, 2024, 12:10 PM
SpaceX is preparing for its fifth flight test of the Starship, which is set to take place from Boca Chica, Texas. The company has recently released a video showcasing its new 1-million square foot Starfactory, designed to integrate various stages of spacecraft manufacturing under one roof. This facility aims to streamline production processes with the goal of building 1,000 Starships annually. The Starship and Super Heavy rocket are currently undergoing final preparations, with 39 Raptor engines being chilled down ahead of liftoff. The flight test is being closely monitored by space enthusiasts, many of whom have gathered at the launch site to witness the event live. A slight delay of 25 minutes to T-0 was caused by the need to clear boats from the launch range.
