Trump Names Fox Host and Ex-Rep Sean Duffy as Transportation Secretary, Pledges to End DEI Hiring
Nov 18, 2024, 11:25 PM
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy to serve as the Secretary of Transportation. Duffy, a former prosecutor and five-term Congressman, is currently a co-host on Fox Business's 'The Bottom Line' and a Fox News contributor. He gained early fame as a cast member on MTV's 'The Real World: Boston.' Duffy is expected to focus on rebuilding America's infrastructure, including highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports, and plans to eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) hiring practices for pilots and air traffic controllers. He will replace outgoing Secretary Pete Buttigieg, whom he has previously criticized. Duffy aims to bring 'excellence, competence, competitiveness, and beauty' to the nation's transportation systems and to 'usher in the autonomy economy' to strengthen the U.S. economy.
