Trump Names First Cabinet Pick: Ex-NFL Player Scott Turner as HUD Secretary
Nov 23, 2024, 01:23 AM
President-elect Donald Trump announced on Friday that he intends to nominate Scott Turner, a former NFL player, motivational speaker, and White House aide, as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Turner, who played nine seasons in the NFL with teams including the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers, and Denver Broncos, previously served in the Texas state legislature and led the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council during Trump's first term. He played a significant role in the 'Opportunity Zones' initiative. Turner is associated with the America First Policy Institute and is reportedly the first cabinet nominee announced by Trump.
