Sarah Boone Sentenced to Life After Zipping Boyfriend Jorge Torres in Suitcase to Die
Dec 2, 2024, 09:30 PM
Sarah Boone, a Florida woman, was sentenced to life in prison on December 2, 2024, after being convicted of second-degree murder for the February 2020 death of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres Jr. Boone had zipped Torres into a suitcase, recorded videos of herself taunting him as he pleaded for help, and then left him inside for hours until he suffocated. During sentencing, Boone described her time in jail as 'the best experience of her life.' The conviction came in October 2024 after a six-person jury deliberated for just 90 minutes following a 10-day trial. Boone had gone through eight different lawyers during the course of the legal proceedings. Prosecutors highlighted a history of domestic violence and alcohol abuse in the case.
