Trump Nominates Hegseth as Defense Secretary to Eliminate Wokeness; Appoints Feinberg Deputy, Colby Policy Chief
Dec 22, 2024, 09:54 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced Pete Hegseth as his nominee for Secretary of Defense, emphasizing his plans to "get wokeness out of our military" and praising Hegseth as "the man for this moment" who will "put the war fighters first." Trump added, "He's going to be great." Hegseth aims to eliminate wokeness in the Pentagon and bring back lethality to the military. Additionally, Trump named Stephen Feinberg, co-founder of Cerberus Capital Management with a $65 billion asset portfolio, as Deputy Secretary of Defense. Elbridge "Bridge" Colby was nominated for Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, and Michael Duffey for Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition. Emil Michael was selected as Under Secretary for Research, Keith Bass as Assistant Secretary for Health Affairs, and Joe Kasper as Defense Secretary's Chief of Staff. The appointments are part of a group of "America First Patriots" to lead the Department of Defense and help "Make the Pentagon Great Again."
