Saints' Chris Olave carted off after concussion from Xavier Woods' illegal hit; taken to hospital
Nov 3, 2024, 06:28 PM
During Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave suffered a concussion after receiving a massive hit over the middle from safety Xavier Woods. Olave was sandwiched between Woods and cornerback Mike Jackson, resulting in a significant collision. The hit led to multiple flags for unnecessary roughness as Woods launched into Olave. Players from both teams knelt in concern as Olave lay motionless on the field. He was stretchered off, carted off the field, and taken to a Charlotte hospital. The Saints later reported that Olave has movement in all his extremities. This incident marks Olave's fifth known concussion since 2020, including previous concussions earlier this season, raising concerns about his health and potential extended absence.
