World No.1 Jannik Sinner Faces WADA Appeal Seeking Two-Year Ban Over Doping Case

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against an independent tribunal's decision in August to clear world number one tennis player Jannik Sinner of doping violations after he tested positive twice for a banned steroid in March. The tribunal of the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) had found Sinner to bear 'no fault or negligence,' lifting his provisional suspension within three days and keeping the matter undisclosed for six months. WADA is seeking a period of ineligibility between one to two years, arguing that the finding of 'no fault or negligence' was incorrect.
