VisitFDA Requests Texas Court to Dismiss FOIA COVID-19 Vaccine Records Lawsuit
Oct 18, 2024, 08:55 PM
The FDA has requested a federal judge in Texas to dismiss a public records lawsuit related to COVID-19 vaccines. The lawsuit, filed in late 2021, seeks the release of documents about the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine trials. The FDA argues that it has already spent over $3.5 million and produced more than 1 million documents. Initially, the FDA suggested it could take decades to process and disclose the records. However, a judge ordered the FDA to expedite the release of these documents following a FOIA request and an ICAN lawsuit. The FDA had originally intended a 75-year timeline for the release.
