The lawsuit accuses the defendants, including special prosecutor Kari Morrissey and Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, of malicious prosecution, defamation, and civil rights violations. Baldwin alleges that the prosecutors and investigators intentionally mishandled evidence and pursued him as a 'scapegoat' for the acts and omissions of others. The lawsuit follows the dismissal of the involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin in July, which was based on allegations that evidence was withheld from his legal team.
