Over 3,000 North Korean Soldiers Killed or Wounded in Kursk, Zelenskyy Claims, Exceeding South Korea's Estimate of 1,100
Dec 23, 2024, 11:30 AM
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that over 1,100 North Korean soldiers have been killed or wounded while fighting alongside Russian forces in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine. This assessment was made based on various sources of information and intelligence. Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine stated that the number of North Korean casualties in the Kursk region has exceeded 3,000, a figure that significantly surpasses the estimate provided by South Korea. Zelenskyy also warned of the potential for North Korea to deploy additional troops and military equipment to support Russia's war efforts. According to reports, around 12,000 North Korean troops have been sent to Russia, and the higher casualty figures cited by Zelenskyy come from Ukrainian intelligence.
