Supreme Court Declines Elon Musk's X Corp. Appeal Over Jack Smith's Secret Trump Twitter Warrant
Oct 7, 2024, 02:10 PM
The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal by Elon Musk's X Corp., which challenged a judicial order barring the company from informing former President Donald Trump about a secret Justice Department search warrant for his Twitter account data. The search warrant, obtained by special counsel Jack Smith as part of the investigation into Trump's actions related to the January 6 Capitol riot, sought access to Trump's Twitter direct messages. X Corp. argued that the nondisclosure order violated the First Amendment. The Supreme Court provided no explanation for its decision.
