Grayson McCall, the quarterback for North Carolina State University and former Coastal Carolina star, announced on Instagram his retirement from football due to ongoing concussion issues. McCall, who has a history of concussions, was carted off the field after sustaining a head injury on October 5. Retiring three weeks after the injury, he stated that "brain specialists, my family, and I have come to the conclusion that it is in my best interest to hang the cleats up." The decision marks the end of a notable collegiate career during which McCall was considered to have NFL potential. He plans to pursue a coaching career following his retirement.
