SpaceX Launches Historic Starship 6 Test Flight from Boca Chica, Texas
Nov 19, 2024, 09:47 PM
SpaceX is set to launch its sixth test flight of the Starship rocket from Boca Chica, Texas. The 400 ft tall rocket, powered by 33 Raptor engines, aims to leave Earth's atmosphere and re-enter in a historic test flight. The launch window opened at 5 p.m. CT, with the Flight Director polled GO for launch. This test flight is significant as Starship is planned to be used for NASA's Artemis III mission, which will land astronauts on the lunar surface for the first time since 1972. The flight trajectory of Starship 6 was shared by SpaceX, and the International Space Station will attempt to capture the rocket from space. The event is being livestreamed by SpaceX and various news outlets.
