SpaceX Successfully Launches NROL-186 Mission with 20 Starshield Satellites
Jun 29, 2024, 02:33 AM
SpaceX has successfully launched and landed the NROL-186 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office from Vandenberg, California. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 8:14 p.m. PDT (0314 UTC) on June 28, 2024, and delivered its classified payload, thought to be a second batch of about 20 Starshield satellites, to orbit. The first stage of the Falcon 9 landed on the 'Of Course I Still Love You' droneship. This launch is part of SpaceX's busy schedule, which included multiple Falcon 9 launches and preparations for catching a Super Heavy booster using 'Mechazilla' arms in the coming month.
