James Cameron, the Oscar-winning filmmaker known for his pioneering work in CGI and visual effects, has joined the board of directors for Stability AI. Stability AI is renowned for its text-to-image model, Stable Diffusion. Cameron's addition to the board is seen as a significant move for the company, which aims to transform visual media through generative AI. Cameron, who has been at the forefront of CGI for over three decades, stated, 'The intersection of generative AI and CGI image creation is the next wave.' CEO @premakkaraju announced Cameron's addition, noting its importance. Cameron previously cited his 1984 sci-fi classic, The Terminator, as a cautionary tale about AI.
