Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Agency (GUR) of Ukraine, revealed that there have been multiple unsuccessful attempts to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Budanov, these attempts were made by Ukrainian security services. The Russian Foreign Ministry has claimed that these assassination attempts were allegedly financed by the United States. Budanov emphasized that the attempts have been unsuccessful so far, and noted that Russians fear losing Putin as he is seen as a guarantor of their life stability.
